Places to be visited
In Shillong

Living Root Bridge: The Living Root Bridges in North East India are truly spectacular. You found after watching the bridge, which ran a segment on this phenomenon. The bridge is located in the East Khasi Hills area of Meghalaya state. Getting there is a bit of a mission but the journey is well worth it.

Shillong peak: Shillong Peak, the highest point of Shillong, is located 5 km to the south of the city and is 1961 meters (6,433 feet) in altitude. Being the highest peak in the district, it is often surrounded with fog. The peak itself is not steep, but rather semi-circular like that of a crown placed on the flat and extensive top of the Shillong Hill. The peak is accessible via the Upper Shillong or Jowai Road.

Elephant Falls: The Elephant Gait and the Elephant Falls are located near Upper Shillong. These are beautiful sights especially in the rainy season and are favorite picnic spots among the locals. Beyond the Elephant Falls, one can also view the Upper and Lower Elysium Falls.

Lady Hydari Park: Behind the Shillong Civil Hospital, near the Pine Mount School, is the Lady Hydari Park. It has a small museum, a small zoo, an aviary, and a deer park among tall cedars and pines.

Don Bosco Museum: Don Bosco Museum in Shillong is a major tourists’ spot providing a glimpse of the rich and multi-cultural lifestyles of the indigenous peoples of North East India.

In Cherrapunji

Mawkdok View Point: The Mawkdok Dympep Valley View, located at the very start of Sohra tourist circuit, is one of the most prominent attractions of the place. The forest department has made a view-point at this valley from where tourists can enjoy and appreciate the natural beauty of the valley.

Noh Ka Likai Falls: Noh Ka Likai Falls is located at a distance of just 5 km from the main town; is one of the highest waterfalls in India. Gushing down from a height of 1100 feet, this waterfall is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Cherrapunji. Drive through a high tableland, hike for a small distance and you arrive at the viewpoint from where you can have a panoramic view of the Noh Ka Likai waterfall, cascading down into a pool-like formation. Monsoon season is the best time to visit Noh Ka Likai when the falls are in their full form. From the viewing gallery, tourists can not only enjoy a panoramic view of the waterfalls but also the lush surroundings. A fleet of stairs take you to other view points.

Ramkrishna Mission: The Ramakrishna Mission is an important landmark overlooking the hills of Cherrapunjee. Started in 1924 by Swami Vivekananda, this institution has grown into a major tourist attraction. The sight of the institution catches the eye of everyone entering Cherrapunjee. The majestic structure of Ramakrishna Mission is a sight to behold. The vastness and splendour of Ramakrishna Mission can be gauged from the fact that most of the tourist enquire about the place and are inquisitive to capture it through their lens.

Mawsmai Cave: Around 6 Kms from Cherrapunjee, the Mawsmai Caves are a major crowd puller that leaves tourists spellbound. These limestone caves have the distinction of being the only caves in Meghalaya that are lit enough to enable tourists to enjoy the natural formations in awe. Though the caves are long, only a distance of 150 meters is open for tourists, while the other section is closed. The stalactites and stalagmites caves have innumerable forms, shapes and sizes inside leaving one to imagine as many life forms as possible. This magnificent natural wonder is the handiwork of years of natural abrasion and underground water.

Seven Sisters Falls: Nohsngithiang Falls (also known as the Seven Sisters Waterfalls or Mawsmai Falls) is a seven-segmented waterfall located 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) south of Mawsmai village in East Khasi Hills district in the Indian state of Meghalaya. The water falls from a height of 315 metres (1,033 ft) and has an average width of 70 metres (230 ft) making it one of the tallest waterfalls in India.

Leave Dhaka by BRTC bus for Tamabil from Kamlapur at 10.00 P.M. (21.07.16), overnight journey.
Arrived Tamabil at around 7 A.M. (22.07.16)
After breakfast and Refreshing we’ll go to the immigration office to leave Bangladesh and enter in India.
Start journey by BRTC bus for Shillong from Dowki border.
Arrived Shillong at around 1 P.M.
Refreshment and take lunch at hotel in Shillong.
After lunch Shillong city tour by reserved car for 4 hours, starts at 3.30 P.M.
Getting dinner and night stay at hotel in Shillong.

2nd day (23.07.16)
After breakfast we’ll start our daylong journey to see the natural beauty and the beauty of waterfalls in Cherrapunji by reserved car.
Take lunch in journey time.
At evening we’ll arrive the hotel in Shillong.
After dinner overnight stay in hotel.

3rd day (24.07.16)
After breakfast we’ll start our half day journey to see the natural beauty of Shillong.

Early morning leave the hotel and start journey for Dhaka from Shillong by BRTC bus.
We’ll go to the immigration office to leave India and enter in Bangladesh.
